The gold of Caxamalca is a historical narrative by Jakob Wassermann , which appeared in 1923 in Vienna in the book The Spirit of the Pilgrim. It tells of the imprisonment and the death of the Inca emperor Atahuallpa during a campaign under General Francesco Pizarro against the Peruvians in the years 1532 and 1533 from the perspective of the narrator Domingo de Soria Luce.

In Wassermann's account of events are the exorbitant avarice of the Spaniards and the impurity, which has come to them about the country and Atahuallpa paralyzes the heart. The book is a popular school reading.
