Item Description
Mixed media "Superman" encased in plexi with wood framed back with wood mounting brace.
Paul Gerben has evolved his distinctive individual style over a twenty-year career in New York City. His photography has appeared in People, Time Out/NY, Elle, In Style, Details and many other national magazines. His celebrity portraits cover the spectrum, from politicians such as Bill Clinton and Rudy Giuliani to rockstars and writers like Bono and Salman Rushdie, fashion icons Naomi Campbell, Tommy Hilfiger, and many other boldface names.
Working as a photographer & creative director has helped fuel his energetic multi-level approach. A strong sense of composition and fluid use of natural light help him in his constant efforts to capture that elusive moment when the truth emerges from the frame at the instant the shutter clicks.
Paul Gerben has spent two decades honing his artistic eye & instinct, searching for and patiently isolating single cinematic frames from the visual world. Seeking out that perfect unplanned moment. The brief instant when background, foreground and light all converge to produce an image that fills the eye with pure aesthetic pleasure.
A former art & creative director for Ford Models & The Limited Inc. Paul now owns and operates Studio 7, a branding & design company in NYC. As a Creative Director and photographer he has worked on numerous national advertising & marketing campaigns in fashion, corporate, and entertainment. Studio 7’s clients include Donald Trump, Will Smith, Elite Models, Motorola, Sony and MTV.
His diverse creative background has helped create his unique aesthetic approach. He is equally at home with an entire creative team or working one on one with a single subject.
