Born in London and raised in New York City, Charlotte Ronson’s artistic family coupled with a unique upbringing inspired the designers distinct sense of style and creative point of view. At an early age, her exposure to art, travel, and music, as well as the many people and experiences in her life, helped shape the person she is today: a young, talented, and respected American fashion designer. Ronson explored her ardor for art and fashion while studying at New York University. Through her studies and various internships, including, Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar and a myriad of fashion labels, she honed her design skills and aesthetic. After graduating, Charlotte began customizing vintage T-shirts, to which her friends took notice, asking her to create pieces for them. Ronson obliged and created her first collection, C. Ronson, which eventually grew into the dynamic womenswear brand that includes her eponymous label, Charlotte Ronson, and Shoshanna Made with Love, a swimwear line. The brand’s success has lead to design deals with some of America’s largest retailers, catapulting Ronson into the spotlight. In 2008, Ronson designed Play by C. Ronson, a diffusion line exclusive to Urban Outfitters. In 2009, Ronson and JCPenney signed a long-term deal launching a full contemporary collection, I [Heart] Ronson, hitting Penney’s website, catalogue, and 600 stores. In May 2011, Ronson designed a limited-editotion capsule collection for Uniqlo’s Designer’s Invitation Project, sold at over 850 retail locations worldwide. September 2011 Ronson launched Charlotte Ronson Beauty sold exclusively at Sephora. The designer continued to expand her eponymous brand in 2012 when she launched the Charlotte Ronson handbag collection with Artisan House.
