Ghost Quartet is a new devised piece about the after-life by Obie award-winning theater artist, Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812) that pushes the boundary between music and theater, and explores non-traditional staging and immersive elements to activate the audience and enrich their experience. Blurring the line between theater and contemporary music performance, between “highbrow” chamber music and traditional folk pieces, between logic and superstition, Ghost Quartet creates an otherworldly performance environment that provokes dreams, questions, and actions.

Target Margin Theater is a Brooklyn-based theater company committed to expanding theater by re-imagining classic and contemporary work. Founded in 1991 by David Herskovits on the principle that works of art return us to real truths more powerfully by their divergence from a strict illustration of reality, TMT has had a significant impact on the field in New York and nationally by identifying, supporting and influencing a generation of new artists. TMT's more than 40 mainstage productions include ten world premieres, seven company-created works, three U.S. premieres and five new translations, which have garnered four OBIE Awards, enlisted the talents of hundreds of designers and employed over 500 Equity actors. Recent well-received productions include Uriel Acosta: I Want that Man! at The Chocolate Factory, The (*) Inn at Abrons Arts Center, Uncle Vanya at HERE, The Tempest at HERE, Faust at Classic Stage Company, The Really Big Once at the Ontological, A Family of Perhaps Three at The Chocolate Factory, Ten Blocks on the Camino Real at The Ohio Theater, People Are Wrong at The Vineyard and The Argument and Dinner Party at The Kitchen. We have also enjoyed creative partnerships with, among others, The Bushwick Starr, JACK, The Brick and La MaMa. Extending outside of New York, TMT has been presented at the Spoleto USA Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, Mass MoCA, the Emelin Theatre and the Bonn Biennale in Germany. 

The Bushwick Starr is an Obie Award winning not-for-profit theater that presents an annual season of new work in theater, dance, and puppetry. Defined by both their artists and our community, they have grown into a thriving theatrical venue, a vital neighborhood arts center, and a destination for exciting and engaging performance. The Bushwick Starr’s mission is to help ambitious artists and ambitious audiences find each other. BWS provides a spring­board for emerging professional artists to make career-defining leaps, and is a sanctuary where established performance companies come to experiment and innovate. They are also a neighbor­hood playhouse, serving our Bushwick, Brooklyn community’s diverse artistic needs and impulses.

Reservations for The Bushwick Starr must be made no less than 72 hours in advance, and are restricted to the following performances: 10/8, 10/9, 10/10, and 10/15 at 8pm.  Tickets are subject to availability.
