Alberto Ulloa was a Dominican painter (1950 – 2011) born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He studied painting at the National School of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo and graduated in 1974. In 1975 the
State Secretary of Education granted him a scholarship to study art at the Escuela de San Fernando, Spain, where he earned the title of Professor of Fine Arts at the school. He made numerous solo exhibitions and has won numerous awards and honors, both at home and abroad.
Ulloa, the little known artist, found his way into the Encyclopedia Britanica and was inducted into the permanent collections of the most prestigious museums in the Caribbean. His international expositions are countless, extending to nearly every continent. His work can be found in galleries and collections in Amsterdam, Madrid, Santiago, New York, Toronto, London, Taipei and Dubai. He is the subject of four books with nearly one thousand pages dedicated to his work.
