Item Description

Enjoy print, film, and dharma in this three-item set from Divine Arts.

The Sacred Sites of the Dalai Lamas remarkably mixes stunning photographs of Tibet’s most sacred monasteries of the early Dalai Lamas with text on the historical relevance of these sites in the unfolding of Tibetan Buddhism. Appearing throughout the book are brief biographies, inspirational quotations and passages from the writings of the early Dalai Lamas.

The DVD of the same name is a remarkable film visiting the sacred sites of the Dalai Lamas in Tibet, a pilgrimage with translator and author Glenn Mullin. This fascinating journey explores the caves where the early Buddhist masters meditated, enters the monasteries where the Dalai Lamas and others taught, and – at an altitude of over 16,000 feet – looks down into the famous oracle lake of Lhamo Lhatso where every Dalai Lama has had prophetic visions.

Also on DVD is The Old Lady’s Finger — and Other Mahamudra Teachings in which Lama Chime transmits Mahamudra teachings that have been passed down in an unbroken line of oral transmissions from the 10th- century scholar Naropa. Lama Chime brings a profound understanding of how to apply this ancient wisdom to modern life in a poignant, humorous, yet vivid style.
