Item Description
Doug, donated Orca in Hardwood #1 for the Spring Fling For Lolita. Unfortunately, the tail of this beautiful Orca broke and was unreparable (to my greatest disappointement).
Doug has so generously donated the Orca #2 to help Lolita and her family have safe waters to live in, and here is his description that describes this wonderful piece of art.
"The "Killer Whale" is actually the largest member of the dolphin family. Very intelligent and arguably a little over-dressed, orcas are the sea's premier predators. They don't bother with people, though, and this one is very friendly. Made from recycled hardwood with a nice oak base, this sculpture is 10" long by 8" high. It was hand-carved, stained, painted, then protected with several coats of acrylic. It is discretely initialled and dated by the artist. Put this handsome piece next to any goldfish bowl to add an element of aquatic anxiety.
