Item Description
"I focus on concept rather than material," artist Ian D. Warren says of his art. He created this mask on behalf of the History Colorado Center. "I strive to tell stories and use media that will best tell each story," Ian says. "From digital media to steel frabrication, I strive to have a broad base of technical knowledge and to select materials and techniques appropriately. I plan to continue making narrative pieces that tell stories that need to be told. The stories I want to tell are ones of pain that people may not always hear about. My intent is to reflect the world and to imaginatively transform that information for my viewers."
Item Special Note
Did you know Colorado has a State Tartan? The Colorado District Tartan was officially recognized by Colorado's General Assembly in 1997. It is Celtic and a district tartan that may be worn by a resident or friend of Colorado, whether or not of Celtic heritage. You'll notice the blue, red, white and gold from the Colorado State Flag. Artist Ian D. Warren made this mask on behalf of History Colorado Center. The center inspires generations to find wonder and meaning in our past and to engage in creating a better Colorado.
