Item Description
Enjoy fine art? This chair will add beauty and culture to any room. The chair is a nod to the Town of Brighton’s bicentennial depicting the infamous corner of Winton & East as it appeared in the 1800s. The image is painted directly on the back of the chair in oils on the refinished wood surface of the vintage oak chair. The accomplished landscape painting alone on the back of the chair makes this piece a true work of art!
ARTIST STATEMENT/INFLUENCE:
Due to the age of the chair /canvas I thought an historical theme was fitting. As the bicentennial year and a Brighton, N.Y. resident I chose the original village as a beginning concept and began my research. The image is that of the corner of Winton/East Ave - the present location of Wegmans.
