Item Description
I was so impressed with not only the beauty of this Orca, but of the process in the creation of it as well. Mark has made this generous donation to help in this most noble cause.
Aluminum Orca Killer Whale sculpture 24 inches long and 19 inches high. Inspired by Pacific Northwest Coast Indian Haida and Tlingit designs.
Hand shaped and formed from a repurposed thin aluminum sheet using metalworking chisels, punches, hammers, and mallets. The 25 gauge aluminum sheet was originally to be used for roof flashing.
I paint the traditional patterns with black permanent ink and protect the surface with a clear coat. A copper wire is attached for hanging. Signed by the artist on the back. Includes a signed artist?s sheet showing how I create this metal art.
You will be amazed at the light weight of the aluminum (no heavy hanging hooks needed) and how its chrome-like, mill-rolled finish reflects the light.
