Item Description

Artist Steve Atkinson says:  "I started painting full time in 2008, building upon a successful 25-year illustration career.  Now I create images of what moves me as an artist and a human being.  My work celebrates the romance and reality of the western lifestyle.  Great painting has always been as much about how the artist handles the paint as it is about the painting's message.  Hopefully, when you look at one of my paintings, you can tell I have a ball at the easel.  To see more of my work, visit my website at :  www.SteveAtkinsonStudio.com."

Item Special Note

I love (country singer Luke Bryan's) music and chose to have the neck of a beer bottle across the top of the mask pouring beer into the lower part of the mask.  As the beer pours, the little bubbles form musical notes which float up and out of the foam.  Around the outer edge of the mask, I wrote the names of his songs (not all of them cuz they wouldn't all fit, but most of them).  I chose to do this visual for two reasons.  1) Luke likes to sing about partying in general and beer in particular (he's the redneck spring break guy).  Two of his biggest hits are about beer.  So I thought I would work the idea of pouring beer and his music together.  2) Luke is the country artist I would most like to sit and have a beer with.  He just seems like a genuinely nice guy.
