Item Description
Art has played a big role in the life of artist Lisa Lamoreaux. Lisa received her bachelors in Fine Art, in Art Studio, with an emphasis in painting and drawing in May 2009 from the University of New Mexico. Lisa later chose to combine her passion for art with a passion for serving people and pursued a Masters of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology (Concentration in Art Therapy). Lisa received her degree in May 2014 from Naropa University. Her personal artwork shifts between conceptual and representational depictions of the figure. She constructs images through abstractions of the human form and softly muted monochromatic colors.
For this piece, I chose to create a silhouette of a Tyrannosaurus Rex to represent the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. For the mask, I used varying shades of reds, blues and purples. The background is painted in lighter colors and has an antique quality to it. For the silhouette, I used deeper shades of purple/mauve that sharply contrast the soft, light colors used in the background.
