Item Description
"Into Indigo" an acrylic on canvas,
Framed in a gold colored leaf frame, measuring (without frame) 12" x 16".
From the artist: "The painting is from my time spent on Nantucket, but is not meant to be any particular place or time. It can be anywhere the viewer envisions. I try to convey the emotions felt while viewing the sea in
its ever changing conditions. Its majesty. Its ferocity. It's calmness."
Bob Buda's work is inspired by a lifetime spent on the Atlantic coast, with the majority of his paintings focusing on the shoreline, or ocean/sky views. He says that the aim of his works - which are not site specific - is to "capture the emotion generated by the ocean's tranquility, peacefulness and awesome power".
Bob's initial art studies were through The Famous Artists School in Westport during the 1960's, when he became fascinated with the basics of drawing and design. He has continued his art independently for most of his life through his travels, research, and gallery and museum visits. Buda's art is frequently exhibited at summer art festivals and he has participated in the juried New England Landscape Invitational Exhibition in Old Lyme.
