Item Description

Receive your own bronze Buddha face from the studio of Marylyn Holland who says, "My intention is to bring peace and tranquility into one's space." The successful bidder choose their favorite of three faces.

The bronze series began late 2010 beginning with the "Singer". The original hand built clay head was pit fired at the Hui on Maui. It was one of those pieces that Ms. Holland kept in her studio because she enjoyed its energy. Her friend suggested that she have it reproduced in bronze since she had several clients and friends desiring this particular face. Following this piece she added "Dimples", followed by "Prayer", and others. She continues making the clay faces every week and when a special face emerges, it stands a chance of becoming the next bronze. Her bronzes are produced in Oregon at the Valley Bronze Foundry where the patina is applied that makes each one unique.

Playing and working in her father's studio, Ms. Holland has grown up with clay. Although her early introduction was functional wheel thrown pottery, currently she is exploring handbuilt sculptures, vessels and wall hangings.

Details: diameter of each face is between 4.5" and 6"
