Item Description

Kim Scafuro, donor of the Auction's popular Self-Portrait item, also makes pins painted with animal portraits. The successful bidder for this item will receive Kim's tiny wearable painting of a Grey Cat.

The pin is painted with acrylic paints on an acrylic cabochon and finished with several coats of polyurethane and high gloss medium to give it a nice shine as well as protection from the elements.

Kim Scafuro is a Philadelphia-based artist and illustrator. In November 2008, she was written up in the lifestyle magazine, Domino, in an article about new and upcoming portrait artists. Since then, she has been creating portraits of children, family members, pets and friends. She works closely with her customers to create images that combine their ideas and her personal style to create wholly unique pieces.

Kim’s portraits are typically gouache, ballpoint pen or cut paper on high quality, archival paper. To create a custom portrait she works from a quality photo of the subject matter and will incorporate special features you may have in mind.
