Item Description
Located at 1416 South Broadway in Denver's Antique Row, the Printed Page Bookshop offers an eclectic and impressive collection of contemporary, classic and vintage books in a charming Victorian setting. Firm believers in giving back to the community, owners Dan Danbom and John Frantzen asked Wendy Hedquist Bartlett to create a mask for this year's Denver Hospice Fundraiser. One of several booksellers at the shop, Wendy also doubles as an artist. This is the second time she has taken part in The Mask Project. As before, her mask is in memory of her sister, Ann Marlene Bailey, who benefitted from hospice care.
Item Special Note
"Treasure Hunt"
Nature walks are good for the body, mind and soul. But they're also a great way to help clean up the landscape, recycle and preserve bits of beauty. A walk can be a great "Treasure Hunt" (as this mask is called). I've picked up everything from barbed wire to washers on my treks. And my mask strives to blend this "heavy metal" with nature itself through the use of pressed flowers and leaves.
