Item Description

Enjoy a 4 hour migratory birdwatching hike for four, followed by a classic wild game lunch at Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in Elk Grove, California.  You'll meet your hosts at the refuge for your guided bird tour and afterwards, you'll enjoy a lunch prepared by your hosts that includes wild good rillette, goose stew, barbecued wild duck, wild rice, and dessert.

This fall adventure can be either a weekend or mid-week experience.  The exact date and time is TBD and is subject to reschedule based on weather.

Your guides for this experience are:

Dr. Steven Schwartzbach recently retired as the Center Director of the USGS Ecological Research Center (WERK) and his research interest is ornithology.

Dr. Dale Pierce is a board member of El Dorado County and Georgetown Divide Conservation District and is a hunter, conservationist, and wild game chef.

Mic Restaino is an engineer, outdoorsman, hunter, conservationist, and wild game chef.

Don't forget to bring your binoculars!

Birdwatching is great fun for children and they are welcome if accompanied by a parent.
