Kim Larson is a professional mosaic artist who specializes in commercial, private and public glass and ceramic mosaic work. Her artistic background includes graphic design at the University of Southern California and direct, private training by Laurel True, co-founder of the Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland, CA.

She learned structural cement skills through instruction with renowned California mosaic artist, Diana Durand, and has created and helped implement public works throughout the San Francisco Bay area of Northern CA.

Larson utilizes her more than twenty-five years of art experience to demonstrate a unique, cutting edge approach that takes the mosaic arts to a higher level of expertise and style. She has created dozens of projects from small-scale to large, working both alone and with other artists, on projects that uniquely express the cultural significance of their locations, most recently in the form of a stylized Virgin of Guadalupe mural located in a diverse, largely Hispanic neighborhood in East Oakland.

Larson’s work is found in private collections, in parks and on commercial buildings across Northern California. Her work combines fine art with her own exceptional techniques to accomplish outstanding, eye-catching effects that transform the mundane into the spectacular.  Specializing in glass, she also possesses expert ceramic tile fitting skills.
