Item Description
Our very own Barbara Smith Maloit makes a donation of this wonderful and highly prized Longaberger woven basket.
Longaberger baskets are rich pieces of American tradition and history. They have exceptional beauty and exquisite craftsmanship that basket collectors and ordinary people have come to love. Handcrafted since the 1919, Longaberger baskets are the Holy Grail of the basket-making industry. They command such respect that many collectors are willing to pay high prices for the rarest and well-preserved ones.
This particular basket was created in 1991, when Lolita had been at Miami Seaquarium for 21 years already.
The condition of this Longaberger is very excellant.
This basket, as Lolita, survive today, both waiting for their homes, we know where Lolita's home is.... it will be so much fun to learn the whereabouts of this basket's new home.
This measures 9 inches in depth.
9 inches at the mouth of the basket.
7 inches at the base of the basket.
5 1/2 inches deep.
There is a bracket attached to the back of the basket for hanging on a wall, as well as a leather strap attached to the back of the basket.
This lovely piece of Americana is autographed SAP on the bottom of the basket.
