Bring up to five friends to explore the wild world of Point Reyes National Seashore with Bay Area biologist and one of our Field Institute instructors Ellen Sampson. Time your half-day visit with one of Point Reyes' seasonal offerings, including: spring wildflowers, the cooling summer fogs and snowy plovers at Abbotts Lagoon, fall bird migrations and the annual tule elk rut, or the winter whale migrations and elephant seals at the Point Reyes Headlands. Ellen will tailor your tour to your special interests whether they are related to flora, fauna, geology or the history of this amazing park.

The winner bidder will also receive a year-long subscription to Bay Nature Magazine and a embroidered baseball cap from Bay Nature, as well as a collection of five naturalist-inspired University of California Press books for their home library. Book titles include:

Ellen Sampson has led field trips around the Bay Area and California for nearly 40 years. Her background is in biology, physiology, birding, field sketching and natural history. She has hiked extensively at Point Reyes National Seashore and in the Sierra Nevada and loves to learn and teach others about our local flora and fauna, especially the life histories of birds and mammals. She is a docent at the East Bay Regional Park District’s Botanic Garden in Tilden Park where she leads tours of the all-native garden with children and adults, and has been a leader of our annual Children's Bird Count. She also leads private natural history trips around the Bay Area and to the central valley during fall and winter to observe the annual migration of geese, ducks, swans and a multitude of other birds and wildlife.

Funds from Dinner on the Pacific Plate Auction help fund important park preservation and environmental education projects at Point Reyes National Seashore. All donations made above fair market value will be tax-deductible.

This package includes:

( 1 ) Privately guided 4-hour tour of the Point Reyes National Seashore with Ellen Sampson for up to six people. Donor must schedule tour directly with Ellen based on mutual availability.  

( 1 ) One year subscription to Bay Nature Magazine + embroidered bay Nature baseball cap.  

( 5 ) University of California Press naturalist books, described above.
