I come from a long line of needle women who taught me how to knit, crochet, embroider and sew clothing. After moving to Rochester from Chicago in 1978, I learned to quilt. It has been my passion from the very first pieced block I completed. I love ever step of the process: choosing fabrics and colors, the geometry of putting the cut pieces together, and the final process of quilting the three layers of the patchwork and making it come alive with the stitched design.
In the beginning, I made ever quilt by hand, but as the quilts grew larger, I saw the distinct advantage of piecing and quilting by machine. In the past 36 years I have made more than 100 bed quilts. The bigger, the better-- so that the colors, fabrics and design show off their best. My husband, three children, seven grandchildren, and dear friends have been the happy recipients of these quilts.
