Item Description
If you are a beginner, you can get a good start learning to hold the bow, the violin, and learn a scale and perhaps a piece of music. If you already play the violin, you can get another take on how to play with ease and fluidity, or we can work on a piece of music. If you are a classically trained violinist and are interested in violin traditions from another culture, you can learn Middle Eastern, Turkish, Greek, Eastern European, Norwegian, Klezmer or Celtic violin tunes.
Beth is a professional violinist and teacher on the World Music faculty of Tufts University who teaches and performs as a soloist and with numerous groups throughout the U.S., in Hungary, Turkey, Greece, Canada, and more. She was trained as a Western classical musician and has spent many years exploring how the violin is played in many cultures of the world.
