Item Description
Bodywork is therapy for muscles and other soft tissues that is done by hand. In the short term, the aim of this work is to relieve muscular tension and stress and any accompanying aches and pains. The process of bodywork is one of communication between two partners- some of it is verbal and some of it occurs in the giving and acceptance of the manual contact. This enables the therapist to bring his technique to the needs of the recipient. This donation is offered as a two-visit package because the two people involved learn how to work together and personalize the therapy to get the most out of it. The process of bodywork provides information for both partners. Also, in this type of work we often learn more from reactions to therapy than from the initial history and assessments.
Item Special Note
Keith Davis is a chiropractic physician and master body worker who has practiced manual therapy for 27 years and has several hundred hours of post-graduate education taken in multidisciplinary settings such as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and with the rehabilitation department of the Medical Faculty of Charles University, Prague, among others. Unless requested, spinal manipulation is not a part of these visits. The normal value of two one-hour sessions is $260 for a person with working insurance, thus there is a discount of around 25%. People with insurance or reimbursement plans can have claim forms filed or receive documentation of their visits.
