Item Description

These wine barrel tea lights and appetizer trays are hand crafted by a Rebuilding Together Oakland volunteer, Ros Harper.  These unique items are made of oak from a wine barrel Ros collected from Napa and the marks from the hoops that held the barrel together have been left visible and the undersides still smell of red wine. Patterns of grapes and leaves have been burned in using sharp pyrography tools. These make wonderful and functional table decorations.

Ros Harper, a retired Kaiser nurse who lives in Alameda, took up woodturning because she "thought it would be a great challenge" -- and it was.  Now 12 years later, Ros has so many woodworking tools in her garage that her car is consigned to street parking.  A lathe, band saw, drill press, sanders, grinders and a myriad of hand tools fill the floor, walls and cabinets.  Wood carving and pyrography (wood burning) gear and display cases share the rest of her home with her dogs Stuart and Bear. So decorate your home with these unique items hand-crafted in her garage!

Item Special Note

You are bidding on two items: the tea light tray and the appetizer tray. Note that the salt and pepper are sold separately.  No Shipping.  These items must be picked up at the Oak Barrel Bash or at the Rebuilding Together Oakland offices.
