Item Special Note

Kim Cutler is a ceramic artist who lives and works in Worcester,

Massachusetts and Keuka Park, New York. Although she has been

making pots for many years, she has made her living as a graphic

designer for 35 years, serving the non-profit community in her hometown.

She never studied graphic design or ceramics in college. Rather, she got

a degree in art history from Wellesley College and a Masters in Teaching

in painting from Yale University. Both courses of study contribute to her

sense of design and both support an awareness of art from the past.

Kim taught herself graphic design "on the job" using increasingly

sophisticated applications on a Macintosh computer. Eventually, she

taught others at Becker College and the Worcester Art Museum.

Clay came to her through classes and workshops at the Worcester Center

for Crafts and through experimentation in her studio. She currently sells in

four galleries and does juried craft shows in NY, CT and Massachusetts.
