Item Description
Great music in a great room — that’s the award-winning Jazz at the Bistro concert series. Located in the newly renovated and remodeled Ferring Jazz Bistro, part of the new Harold & Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz in Grand Center, the best artists in jazz have played on this concert series, which is produced by Jazz St. Louis, a non-profit organization.
On February 20, enjoy a night of easy listening from four great seats at Jazz at the Bistro starring the contemporary/fusion stylings of Jimmy Haslip and Eric Marienthal. Dinner and drinks are delicious options.
In the late ‘70s, trailblazing keyboardist Jeff Lorber had become a prominent figure in the jazz fusion movement—marrying traditional jazz with elements of rock, R&B, funk, and other electric sounds. Now, the acclaimed group he started then—Jeff Lorber Fusion—is back, revisiting the revolutionary sound it helped pioneer, and bringing its combination of complex harmonies, unconventional time signatures, and compelling rhythms along. Both of Lorber’s band mates have had storied careers between Fusion’s initial run and this reunion, with bassist Jimmy Haslip being best known as the long-time bassist with the Yellowjackets and Eric Marienthal playing with the Chick Corea Elektric Band.
Jazz at the Bistro: the way jazz is meant to be experienced.
