Item Description
Jhampa Shaneman's Buddhist astrology readings have been a favorite of Shambhala Sun Online Auction bidders for many years. The Sumeru Press has now made it possible to also offer his book Buddhist Astrology.
Buddhist astrology is a form of archetypal astrology that helps people understand the role of the cosmic cycles in relation to their understanding and identification with Buddhist philosophy and mythology. It helps with understanding the role of interdependence, a primary Buddhist belief, personal genetics, family history, education, and other social and cultural influences. Buddhist astrology recognizes that there is a critical need to balance the physical world with conditions people were born into, from a karmic or cosmic perspective. The interdependence of these factors make it possible for people to live in a world full of choices while honoring the basic dynamic trends pulling them in one direction or another.
The Sumeru Press Inc. is dedicated to publishing and distributing Buddhist books and art, with a particular focus on Buddhism in Canada. It celebrates and supports all lineages.
