Item Special Note
King is a textile artist who moved to Olympia in 2002 and in 2012 opened a studio/retail space inside the Olympia Weekend Flea Market where she is often thread painting or cleaning vintage sewing machines. PeggySue is an avid knitter and broomstick lace maker and participates in the weekly Open Knitting/Handwork Circle at Arbutus Folk School.
Her textile art pieces are original and occasionally include altered fabrics and come in a variety of sizes, techniques, and subject matter. King embellishes her creations with fibers, thread, beads and baubles which whe considers a form of ‘doodling', stating that "textiles provide an amazing pallet and the interactive, tactile nature of fiber is a soothing, relaxing medium to play with!"
