Paul Schaufler's avocation began in 1938 with the gift of a Baby Brownie, manufactured by Kodak from 1934 to 1941, became a vocation following college, the military, and a 30 year career in natural resource mangagement.
The brownie was succeded by a series of 35mm cameras used for color stock photgraphy and ultimately by 4x5 field and studio cameras.
For the past 27 years He has concentrated on classic large format black and white archival selenium toned gelatin silver prints on fibre base paper.
"I photograph what I know best. As a natural resource person and mountaineer landscape images predomiinate. That does not preclude capturing images of whatever appeals to my aesthetic sensibilities." -PS
