Item Description

With a legendary career on stage, screen and TV that spanned almost 70 years, Elaine Stritch will always be remembered as the brassy, tart-tongued actress, singer and spell-binding storyteller who became an emblem of show business durability, as brilliantly talented as she was outrageously outspoken. Ms. Stritch - or "Stritchy" as Noel Coward was fond of calling her - was a force to be reckoned with on and off-stage and a dear friend of BC/EFA’s, always eager to sign a poster, Playbill or photo, meet VIPs backstage or show up at an event as long as we sent a car and took care of the hair, make-up and dry cleaning. And for her, we did. Happily! Here are two wonderful mementos of Ms. Stritch's last appearances in New York City and her deep affection for her friends, colleagues and co-workers in "the business."

  • On April 3, 2013, Elaine Stritch made her final appearance at the Café Carlyle at the Carlyle Hotel. Here is photograph taken by The New York Times of that brilliant and unforgettable night, signed and dated by Ms. Stritch.
