Item Description
The Shubert Organization's historic Plymouth Theatre was built in 1917 on West 45th Street, considered to be the most desirable street in the Broadway theatre district. The Plymouth's first production was the play A SUCCESSFUL CALAMITY. Dozens of better-remembered productions followed including THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH, DIAL M FOR MURDER, THE ODD COUPLE, PLAZA SUITE, EQUUS, THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, BURN THIS, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES and A STEADY RAIN.
In 2005, the theatre was renamed the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in honor of the chairman of The Shubert Organization. Schoenfeld passed away in 2008. During the recent renovation of the theatre, crystal lighting fixtures that had been in place for decades were replaced. Now one can be yours.
This flush mount fixture is 12 inches in diameter and hangs 7 inches from the ceiling. Suspended from an embossed brass banding ring are five round tiers, descending in size. More than 120 sparkling and pristineSwarovski™ crystals hang from the tiers. The crystals are original to the piece.
Fill your home with the warm glow of this vintage theatre sconce. View stunning interior photos of the Plymouth/Schoenfeld Theatre in The Shuberts Present: 100 Years of American Theatre, a coffee table book published by Abrams.
