Item Description

Hold a piece of history in your hands. Distinctive and handsome, these Buddhist-themed cufflinks from Hudson Blue Artisans are made from 1960s Japanese postage stamps, sterling silver-clad steel, and jeweler's grade resin.

The stamps were introduced by Japan Post in 1966. They feature Onjo Basatsu, Saints of Music, performing the flute. The image in the stamp is a relief from a bronze lantern in Todai temple. The stamps had a 200 Yen denomination.

The cufflinks are created by setting carefully selected sections of authentic postage stamps in 3/4” (18mm) bezel cups which are soldered to cufflink backings. Resin is then poured over the stamp to seal it in the bezel cup. The pine-based resin creates a crystal clear, beautiful, and durable dome that magnifies the surface details and color depth of the stamp. Each pair of stamps is unique and carefully matched.

Hudson Blue Artisans J.K. Ramirez says, "With stamps in them, these cufflinks will remind you of home, inspire you to travel, and to enjoy the clash & fusion of cultures. I hope my cufflinks will intrigue you, brighten up your day, help you remember the past, and inspire you in the future."

Details: 3/4″ (18 mm) diameter; sterling silver clad stainless steel, eco-friendly resin; vintage postage stamp; Gift Wrap included
