The Story Behind the Shot: Prishtina, the capitol of Kosovo is a mix of elder genocide survivors, whose terror is still written in the lines of their faces, and a defiant youth who chain smoke and party deep into the early morning. My daily walks between the film festival and my hotel took me through it all - bomb wreckage, proud new glass buildings, faded photos of lost loved ones, the street life of the permanently unemployed, etc. The long lens shot of the chaotic street is enhanced by the imperfectly aligned panes of the new building.
