North Beach Food and Wine Tour for 4
www.exploresanfrancisco.biz
North Beach is a food lover’s paradise. On your food tour, chances are you’ll be having antipasti, appetizers, pizza, pasta, breads and likely end with Canolli from one of the oldest and best Italian bakeries anywhere. You’ll also probably have tiramisu from an even older Italian eatery that first opened its doors in 1880. You might also have some homemade fudge and hand-made truffles. Some of the best coffee in the world is roasted in North Beach.
This area was once called The Latin Quarter, as it was not only the center for the Italians but Spanish speakers, as well. To this day, there are still several Basque restaurants in the district, a mixture of French and Spanish influences.
You’ll visit at least five different and delicious eateries, including Bask and Café Macaroni. You might also visit coffee roasters, visit an Italian Bakery, Candy Makers, see the Barbary Coast and the North Beach Walk with historic and entertaining highlights narrated by a knowledgeable guide. You’ll enjoy famed North Beach wine during the tour.
The North Beach Food and Wine Tour is Wednesday through Saturday at 2:30pm and on Sundays at 6pm. Not recommended for minors. This is a walking tour and no transportation is provided. Major holidays excluded. Valid until October 19, 2015.
