There are six bottles of 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon and six bottles of 2010 Chardonnay.
For 30 years Hafner has been making Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay only from grapes grown at their winery, with the wines sold to their patrons and leading California restaurants, but not in stores.
The fruit-forward 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of dark berry fruit. Soft and supple on the palate, its bittersweet chocolate, vanilla toastiness and olive notes enhance the bouquet. The rich, long finish adds complexity and depth to the wine. The wine will develop well for at least an additional ten years.
The 2010 Chardonnay opens with bright fruit-driven aromas of sweet grapefruit and pear. Its lively fresh entry, supple mouthfeel and vanilla toastiness add richness and complexity. As the 2010 ages, it will develop the nuances of bottle bouquet that occur as Hafner’s Chardonnays mature.
