Opened in 2012, after a complete restoration that sensitively and imaginatively brought the property into the 21st century, Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine earned a Europa Nostra Award from the European Union for conserving cultural heritage. The medieval abbey and estate of LeDomaine is a grand travel experience that overwhelms the senses with its enduring history, stately architecture, majestic ambiance, world-class culinary experiences by one of Spain’s most celebrated chefs, acclaimed vineyards and regal accommodations.
Of the estate’s 1,730 acres of prime farmland, 500 acres are dedicated to the vine. The winery produces award-winning vintages of exceptional pedigree and is among the most advanced in Europe in combining ancient wine-making traditions with cutting-edge technology.
Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine has been a winery for nearly a millenium, but when it became a world-class estate hotel it evolved into a gastronomic and wine tourism destination of noble status. The hotel’s Gastronomy Manager is superstar Spanish chef Andoni Luis Aduriz, whose San Sebastian restaurant Mugaritz has Two Michelin Stars. Head Chef Pablo Montero trained in some of the finest international restaurants and then honed his skills at Mugaritz. Using the finest and freshest local ingredients, they create traditional dishes with creative and innovative twists. Their cuisine is savored by guests in three distinctly evocative dining ambiances: The Refectorio, the original dining hall of the abbey; The Cloister, the abbey’s beautiful courtyard; and the Wine Cellar, where tapas and small plates are paired with Abadia Retuerta wines.
You’ll have two nights luxury vineyard-view accommodations with breakfast included, along with a with an exclusive visit to the winery Abadia Retuerta with wine tasting, a guided tour through the monastery by your personal butler, lunch at Vinoteca Restaurant, serving an excellent selection of tapas and dishes made from ingredients produced in the region, and a dinner at Refectorio Restaurant.
