Bluxome Street Winery, San Francisco
Mixed Case Pinot Noir

www.bluxomewinery.com

Wine has been made in San Francisco since the 19th century. The South of Market district was home to several wineries before 1906 earthquake. Sadly, the area then called South of the Slot lost all its wineries until 2010. Enter Bluxome Street Winery, representing 100 years of heritage and a part of history.

The founders of Bluxome like a wine that speaks to its roots while lending itself smashingly to food. To create it, they source high-quality fruit from low-yield, meticulously farmed, vineyards in cool Sonoma regions. Letting Mother Nature do its work, the character of the fruit remains intact in the glass.

Included is two bottles each of the following 2012 vintage Pinot Noir:

Balinard Vineyard: The wine opens with aromas of wild raspberries and forest berries, followed by spice, white pepper, lavender, Pine and dried floral. Gorgeous, rich, silky texture that is beautifully balanced. The finish is marked by minerals and an excellent spicy note.

Sonoma Coast: Bright with animated red fruits, a hint of pepper, vanilla bean and blood orange, this is a superb Pinot Noir.

Hurst Vineyard: Hailing from the cool Sebastopol hills of the Russian River Valley, this Pinot is a hedonistic combination of warm soil, rich fruit and silky tannins. Elegant and sharply focused, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared.

Weir Vineyard: A delicate Pinot Noir with aromas of raspberry and cranberry followed by spices, floral, zesty herbs and a touch of mineral. Drink through 2020.

The Balinard and Michael Valentine Vineyards provide the grapes for the “South of the Slot” Pinot. Ripe and juicy, it bursts with aromas and flavors. Only 175 cases produced.

Russian River Valley: A smooth Pinot Noir sourced from 4 different vineyards. Mysterious hints of violet pastille make way for bold flavors of Morello cherry and shaved nutmeg.
