Alan currently is deep into acrylic abstracts. Started as an experiment, he found a niche in creating colorful and organic flowing abstract paintings that, if you appreciate color, movement, and your own imagination, evoke thought and lets your mind wander, seeing imagery within the flow of colors that bring happiness to your mind and soul. No matter how you hang his abstract paintings, there will always be something different to see.
As a visual artist Alan also paints still life, landscapes and whatever else he deems interesting or a challenge.
Born 1962 in Washington, DC, Alan has been creating or building art since he was 7 years old, painting Popeye the Sailor with enamel paints on wood, building plastic model cars, or drawing cars in colored pencil and graphite, many of which were dreamed up creations. Primarily self taught, Alan attends workshops and classes to expand his knowledge of becoming a more accomplished artist and painter.
His inspiration comes from simple forms and bright colors. Alan chose the acrylic medium for its quick drying properties and wide array of available gels and mediums for creating different and interesting textures and fluid movements.
Alan has exhibited his works at the Rehoboth Art League’s Member Art Fair, CAMP Rehoboth Abstract exhibit, ArtDC 12x12 and “Red” exhibits and looks to have a solo show in the Fall of 2015.
