Rosa D’Oro Vineyards crafts unique, award-winning, wines with an Old World sensibility. You’ll receive four bottles each of the following 2012 vintage wines:
Primitivo: Primitivo is the Italian Zinfandel grown in Southern Italy. Though they are genetically identical Primitivo is considered to be more feminine and rustic with earthy undertones. The characteristic red raspberry, chocolate and black pepper with plum characteristics are apparent with a little rose petal and savory earthiness.
Aglianico: Known as the Cabernet of Basilicata in Southern Italy, Lake County closely matches its home terroir. Savory red cherry and deep black fruit backed by dark spice, with minerality and classic undertones of graphite, iron, mint, herb and earth. Cellar for ten plus years.
Barbera: Barbera works wonderfully with almost any dish. This Barbera has a bright plum fruit front and center with red and black berries, pomegranate, sage and a hint of violet in the spicy and clean peppery finish. It features low oak and modest alcohol to allow the grape to speak for itself.
91 points, editor's choice, Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Included is a copy of Gaye Allen’s, full-color, comprehensive book “Lake County Wine Guide, The Story of a Fascinating Wine Region” that discusses viticulture, winemaking , wine touring in Lake County, with a focus on each Lake County winery, and more.
