Item Description
The Rock Shell & the Rough Shelled Crab. Hand-colored copper engraving by Mark Catesby. Plate 36 is from Vol.II of "The Natural History of North Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands". London, 1748-56. Engraving is framed and has both a Goodspeed's Bookshop, Boston label on the back as well as the original page 36 containing the description of both crabs. The framed engraving measures 22 1/2" high by 18" wide.
