Item Description

You are bidding on three (3) 10" sensory necklaces.

Needful Nybbles is the creation of a mother for her child with special needs. As her child grew, she struggled to find something age appropriate and stylish to address his oral sensory needs. So she made something for him.

And he LOVED them.

What's more, his friends loved them, too. And his therapists. And his teachers.  No more hands in the mouth. No more chewing on clothing. No more slippery fingers.

Needful Nybbles are fun and stylish. Made of 100% FDA approved food grade silicone, they are BPA free, lead free, and free of cadmium or metal. They come with a breakaway safety clasp and are dishwasher safe.

Needful Nybbles are not only for the special needs community. They are fun and stylish just as they are. What's more, they can be nibbled on. Kid chews on pen caps? Bites nails? Sucks hair? Needful Nybbles can be an alternative to that.

Needful Nybbles come in a wide variety of colors and are made to order. Custom orders are welcome.

Needful Nybbles are not for teething infants but are designed for children with oral sensory needs. They are designed for ages 3 - 8. A new, sturdier line is in development for older children with stronger jaws and is expected to be available in 2015.

Please inspect the necklace carefully before use.

Reviews:

As an occupational therapist, I like that the Needful Nybbles Necklaces can be worn discreetly by children that need extra oral-motor input, which is especially important when in the community or in classrooms. The color and design variety is great to fit each child¿s likes and the chewy parts cannot fall on the ground. I love it!

As an Occupational Therapist I have worked with many students who seek sensory and oral-motor input. I have recommended chewing gum in the past, but not all students are able to refrain from swallowing gum, and it can get pretty messy fast. I have recommended other chewing tools in the past, but none look as cool as these. What I love best about this beaded necklace is that it is stylish and very practical. My students can chew on it while having both hands free to work on fine or gross motor tasks. They look cool and feel great. Of course, of most importance, these are high quality, food grade silicone and toxin free; as well as the "break away" safety fastener for increased safety.  Overall this is a great, functional tool!

I had a 4 year old student two years ago that came to school dressed hip; you know-spiked hair, old school rock-n-roll tees, board shorts, and Chuck Taylors, who desperately needed something to address his oral sensory needs.

We did offer him many different therapeutic materials, however; they made him look extremely different from his peers, and he knew it!  We kept trying different less clinical looking materials, but nothing seemed a good match.

One day, toward the middle of his second year with us, he came in sporting this really stylish androgynous beaded necklace he could chew on, which he did off and on throughout the day.  It fulfilled his needs, kept him calm and organized; and no more hands or anything else in the mouth!!! I remarked to his Mom how effective and ¿neat¿ it was, and she informed me she had made it.  I couldn't believe it.  It was truly a highly functional and absolutely fabulous work of art to meet this "hip" young man's needs!

I am very impressed that this Mom took a need that her son had, worked it out for him in an amazing fashion, and is now selling these products to the public!

I highly recommend Needful Nybbles to any parent who¿s child would benefit from a necklace for oral sensory needs. You will be most impressed!
