Item Description

Winner will receive a two-hour private session with award-winning playwright and screenwriter David Paterson. If the winner is a playwright or screenwriter, Mr. Paterson will read the work prior to their meeting to discuss and critique. He will also offer advice and insight to first time and aspiring writers. Mr. Paterson is also an actor and professional stuntman, so if the winner is an actor, the session can be tailored to fit that as well. The winner will also receive signed copies of his published works and a signed DVD of his first play-to-film adaptation, LOVE, LUDLOW.

Mr. Paterson has 14 plays published with Samuel French and is the only playwright ever to premiere three of his plays in one month on New York stages. He has received glowing reviews from The New York Times, The Village Voice, the New York Post and TIMEOUT NY among others. In 2005 David adapted his play FINGERPAINTING IN A MURPHYBED to a film where it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival as LOVE, LUDLOW. Roger Ebert called the film "Another Sundance Treasure".  David is the writer/producer of Disney's THE BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA and THE GREAT GILLY HOPKINS, being released next spring, starring Kathy Bates, Octavia Spencer, Glenn Close and Sophie Nelisse.

Item Special Note

Session to be held in New York City and will be scheduled for a mutually convenient time. Winner must provide suitable studio space (if needed) in Manhattan.
