Item Description
For a contribution of $50 to Adat Shalom, I am prepared to teach a class on Expository Writing to no fewer than two and no more than five students.
Most writing that young people will do in college (and in their careers afterward) will take this form.
The class will begin in January 2015 and meet for a total of eight weeks.

The Fine Print
First, this is not going to be an easy class. I won't be teaching what students may have learned in middle school or high school about how to write an essay.
Second, beginning the first week, I will be giving students a set of increasingly demanding weekly writing assignments, culminating in an in-class assignment simulating a college level essay question.
Third, prospective students must submit a writing sample of no less than 500 words. I reserve the right to reject anyone whom I consider not ready.
While I don't mean to intimidate anyone, what I'm saying is that I expect students to be capable and receptive, and I intend as a professional to teach them what I think they need to know.
