Item Description
Give your child the ultimate show-and-tell: Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise will visit your child's classroom for a once-in-a-lifetime experience they will never forget!
The experience begins with your child personally meeting and talking with Haise before escorting and introducing the world-famous astronaut to his or her classmates. Haise will fascinate the students as he recounts nearly being lost in space on the Apollo 13 mission and shares how teamwork, education and perseverance led the Apollo 13 crew home safely to Earth. Your child will assist Haise with a question-and-answer session and hand out commemorative Apollo 13 decals to the class before joining the space hero for lunch at the school cafeteria or a local restaurant (accompanied by the student's parents). Your child will receive a special gift and personalized autographed picture, and then pose alongside Haise for a photograph to commemorate this unforgettable experience.
Haise served as the Lunar Module Pilot on the historic Apollo 13 mission. He also flew several test flights of the prototype Space Shuttle Enterprise in the late 1970s. He is one of only 24 people to have ever flown to the Moon.
