Item Description

A world unto itself, Thacher Island, located 3 miles off the coast of Rockport, MA, is home to two 124-foot lighthouses known as "Twin Lights." You will enjoy a weekend stay (Friday-Sunday) for up to 6 people in the 1861 keeper¿s house.

Explore miles of walking trails, visit the Thacher Island museum, and climb to the top of each lighthouse to view the skyline of Boston to the south and Mount Agimenticus in Maine to the north. Enjoy the spectacular sunrises and let the ocean waves lull you to sleep. This is a birder¿s paradise! When you have finished exploring, relax with a book and bottle of wine included in the wonderful gift basket that goes along with this stay.

Transportation to and from the island is provided (or use your own boat and tie up to a guest mooring). Lighthouse keeper volunteers will be your hosts for the weekend. This is truly a unique experience as Thacher Island is not normally open to the public for overnight stays.

Item Special Note

Absentee bidding is available for this item.  An absentee bidder form is available here.

This is not a bed and breakfast but a cottage that will bring one back to Victorian times. There is a fully equipped kitchen with gas appliances and a propane grill for cooking that striper you might catch off the shore. Or you may enjoy a lobster freshly caught by the keeper that day! Bedding and towels are provided although you must bring your own food and beverages.
