Item Description
We adore this charming piece of folk art carved by naturalist R Hall!
This detailed, lifelike woodcarving perfectly captures the cheerful coloring and pleasingly rotund figure of an adult male Evening Grosbeak. These finches are irregular winter migrants meaning their presence is a delightful surprise for backyard bird watchers. Also, according to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Evening Grosbeaks are a declining species, especially in the eastern United States. What a rare treat then, to have daily sightings in your very own home!
