Item Description
This charming footed English ironstone sauce tureen is Columbia shape, c. 1855. The curves and proportions of the piece are aesthetically pleasing. The lid is topped with leaves and an apple. This piece is in excellent condition-- no chips or cracks. The base is unmarked. Ironstone was first created in Staffordshire, United Kingdom in the mid-1800's as a less expensive, mass-production alternative to porcelain. Highly collectible!
Details: Tureen stands approx. 7 1/1" tall with lid, bowl measures 5 3/4" across at widest point.
