The Show:
Fun Home, New York’s newest hit musical, is coming to Broadway this spring following a critically acclaimed run last fall at the Public Theater. Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling memoir, which was largely told through comic-book panels, Fun Home has music by Jeanine Tesori (Violet, Caroline, or Change) and a book and lyrics by Lisa Kron (Well, In the Wake). A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and already the winner of five awards for Best Musical, Fun Home is a groundbreaking, refreshingly honest musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. The production will star Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris and Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn, both of whom are reprising their roles from the off-Broadway run. Obie Award winner and Drama League alumnus Sam Gold directs.

Michael Cerveris:
Michael Cerveris is an actor, singer, musician who got his start on Broadway in 1993 when he starred as Tommy, the renowned “Pinball Wizard”, in The Who’s Tommy. Since then he has been seen as John Wilkes Booth in Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins (earning him a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical), Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd, Perón in Evita, and Kurt Weill in Lovemusick. Mr. Cerveris is a four-time nominee of the Drama League’s Distinguished Performance Award. Additional credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch (off-Broadway and West End), and the Public Theater’s productions of Sondheim’s Road Show, King Lear, and Fun Home. Mr. Cerveris has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the NY Philharmonic , the NY City Opera, and the Kennedy Center. His country band, Loose Cattle, occasionally stampedes about town.
