Item Description
Judith Ivey is taking on a role to be reckoned with in one of this season's most anticipated new plays. Starring opposite Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth, Judith will play the commanding Margaret Thatcher. Here's your chance to get to know the woman critics and theatergoers love over a Chef's dinner with cocktails and wine pairing at the amazing Argentinean-inspired Chimichurri Grill in Manhattan's Theater District.
This package for you and a guest includes:
1) Chef's Dinner with Cocktails and Wine Pairings at Chimichurri Grill: Located in the Theater District at 609 9th Avenue, between 43rd and 44th Streets, Chimichurri Grill is an Argentine steakhouse that specializes in only serving 100% grass fed black angus beef, and combining modern cooking techniques with traditional Argentine quality recipes in order to put a “nuevo” (new) spin on the Argentinean cuisine.
The name pays homage to the “chimichurri” sauce that remains a huge part of traditional Argentine “criollo” culture. Chimichurri is a slightly tangy, slightly spicy sauce made of oil, vinegars, garlic, parsley and red pepper flakes. This sauce is one of the national treasures of Argentina, and Chimichurri Grill's versions from their family’s secret recipes are featured prominently throughout the menu, and accompanies all their steaks.
Chef Carlos personally procures every single item to be cooked and served at Chimichurri Grill, and makes all of their sauces, pastas, and desserts in-house, keeping with the traditions of the best Argentine grills.
2) Dine with Tony winner Judith Ivey: Ivey won two Tony Awards as Best Featured Actress in a Play for Steaming in 1983 and Hurlyburly in 1985. She was also nominated for Park Your Car in Harvard Yard in 1992 and most recently, The Heiress in 2013. Other Broadway theatre credits include Piaf, Bedroom Farce, Precious Sons, Blithe Spirit, Voices in the Dark, and Follies. She portrayed Amanda in The Glass Menagerie at the Long Wharf Theatre and reprised the role in March 2010 at the Roundabout Theatre in New York, as well as at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Judith received the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress for that portrayal. Ivey portrayed Ann Landers in the solo play The Lady With All the Answers at the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre in October 2009, for which she was nominated for a Best Solo Performance Lucille Lortel Award and Drama Desk Award.
Ivey has been in many films, including Brighton Beach Memoirs, Miles from Home, Compromising Positions, Harry & Son, The Woman in Red, Sister, Sister, In Country, Hello Again, The Lonely Guy, There Goes the Neighborhood, The Devil's Advocate, What Alice Found, Flags of Our Fathers, and Bird of the Air. Among her many television appearances, she is perhaps most recognized for her one-year run on the CBS series "Designing Women" in its final season, playing the Texan B.J. Poteet.
