Item Description
Add this rare grouping of 'NY Yankees of the 70s' authentic autographed baseballs to your collection: Ron Guidry, Chris Chambliss, Bob Watson & Oscar Gamble.
Ron Guidry- nicknamed "Louisiana Lightning" and "Gator", is a former MLB left-handed pitcher. He played his entire 14-year baseball career for the New York Yankees, from 1975 through 1988. Guidry was also the pitching coach of the Yankees from 2006 to 2007.
Chris Chambliss- is a former professional baseball player and coach. He played in the MLB from 1971 to 1988 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves. He served as a coach for the Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners.
Chambliss won the American League Rookie of the Year Award with the Indians in 1971. He was an All-Star with the Yankees in 1976, the same year he hit the series-winning home run in the 1976 American League Championship Series. He was a member of the Yankees' 1977 and 1978 World Series championship teams as a player, and won the Gold Glove Award in 1978. Chambliss went on to win four more World Series championships as the hitting coach for the Yankees in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000.
Bob Watson- is a former MLB first baseman and left fielder who played for the Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves from 1966 to 1984. In his playing career, Watson batted .295 with 184 home runs and 989 runs batted in and he was selected to two All-Star teams. He batted .371 in 17 post-season games while striking out just twice.
Watson coached baseball after retiring as a player. After a return to the Yankees serving as general manager, they won the World Series in 1996. He served as Major League Baseball's Vice President in charge of discipline and Vice President of rules and on-field operations until 2010.
Oscar Gamble- is a former outfielder and designated hitter in Major League Baseball. He played for 17 seasons, from 1969 to 1985, on seven different teams: the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees on two separate occasions, as well as the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers.
